Milestone Distributor Acquires SunWest Appliance Distributing

(Milwaukee, WI – January 31, 2012)  U-Line Corporation, the leading innovator of premium built-in, undercounter ice makers, Combo® ice maker/refrigerators, Wine Captain® wine preservation appliances, refrigerators, refrigerated drawers and refrigerator/freezers announced today that Milestone Distributors has acquired SunWest Appliance Distributing. Milestone will take over SunWest’s distribution facility and showroom and service the marketplace effective January 31, 2012.

U-Line Wins Best of Year Award

MILWAUKEE, December 1, 2011 – U-Line’s Modular 3000 Series 36” Solid Door Refrigerator received the Best of Year Award from the preeminent competition recognizing superior design, sponsored by Interior Design Magazine.  Best of Year Product Design honorees were selected by interior designers and architects via an online vote October 3-10, and winners were determined by a jury of leading architects and designers.  The voting site received approximately 28,000 unique visitors and generated 65,000 votes.

U-Line Corporation Appoints Andrew J. Doberstein as the Vice President of Operations

(Milwaukee, WI – November 1, 2011) U-Line Corporation, the leading innovator in premium built-in undercounter ice makers, refrigerators and wine preservation appliances, is proud to announce Andrew J. Doberstein as the new Vice President of Operations. Doberstein will be responsible for all activities in the Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing areas of the company. In addition to overseeing these areas Doberstein will still play a key role in design and engineering of new product to continue U-Line’s presence as a leading innovator.

Milwaukee, WI (September 2011) – U-Line’s newest innovation, the Modular 3000 Series, now provides the simplest method for adding custom integrated overlay panels or frames and toe-kick for that truly seamless and simply elegant installation into a standard 24 inch depth cabinet base. The overlay-ready models accommodate a ¾ inch overlay panel or frame to integrate perfectly with overlay/face frame, inset or European/frameless cabinet styles.

Milwaukee, WI (September 2, 2011) –  U-Line Corporation, maker of premium undercounter ice makers, refrigerators, and wine preservation appliances is pleased to announce the addition of Vetta Group Inc. as its representative for Canada.  The agreement with Vetta Group Inc. was effective September 1, 2011. 

Vetta Group Inc. is a sales and marketing agency which provides market development support throughout the Canadian and US markets.  The company is lead by its President, Stephen Polloni who has built a strong reputation through his work in the appliance industry.  He began his career at Heartland Appliances as the Canadian Territory Manager.  From there he served as Sales Manager for Amiel Distribution Ltd. and then took the post of Vice President of Sales for Distinctive Appliances Inc.

Milwaukee, WI (August 31, 2011) – U-Line Corporation, maker of premium undercounter ice makers, refrigerators, and wine preservation appliances sadly reports the passing of the company’s founder, Henry H. Uihlein.

Uihlein passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on August 30th. He had recently celebrated his 90th birthday – 90 years filled with great achievements, passion for life, and giving to others.

Though undercounter refrigeration products have been available for years, U-Line has taken modular refrigeration to the next level with new designs that accommodate several cabinet configurations, provide versatile temperature controls based on food types, and combine dual functions into one unit.  U-Line’s Modular 3000 Series puts refrigeration where it is needed most for a kitchen that is truly customized and functional. 

Modular refrigeration allows a kitchen to be custom designed to fit all the needs of the homeowner.  Essentially, modular refrigeration places “the right product in the right place at the right temperature.”

The popular KB CULTURE kitchen and bath blog recently announced the winners of their annual KB CULTURE Awards for 2011. U-Line was named the winner in the Outdoor Appliance Category for their Outdoor Series Refrigerator 2175RSOD -- a stainless steel wrapped refrigerator that is designed for use in outdoor kitchens or entertaining spaces.

Two award levels were presented in various categories – “Winner” and “Honorable Mention.” Claggett shared the judging responsibilities with a former colleague from Kitchens & Baths magazine, Mervyn Kaufman, who is known for creating Design Idea Center installations at the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show.
