Milwaukee, WI – June 7, 2012 – U-Line has been awarded three ADEX awards for its Modular 3000 Series premium built-in undercounter products. U-Line has been honored with a Platinum Award for its 3036RR 36" Modular 3000 Series Solid Door Refrigerator, a Gold Award for the 3036WCWC 36” Wine Captain® and a Gold Award for the 3018WC 18” Wine Captain® in the Awards for Design Excellence (ADEX) competition sponsored by Design Journal magazine. In the last 17 years, ADEX has become the largest and most prestigious awards program for product design of furniture, fixtures and finishes marketed to the design trade.

“The 2011-12 ADEX Awards attracted upwards of 500 companies submitting more than 2,800 innovative new products,” said John Platter, executive director of ADEX. “The ADEX Award has recognized many outstanding product designs over the years, and U-Line’s 36" Modular 3000 Series Solid Door Refrigerator as well as the 18” and 36” Wine Captains® have earned their place among that elite group.”

U-Line's Modular 3000 Series was designed from the ground up to integrate easily into existing cabinetry with a clean, modern and minimalist aesthetic. Built-in to stand out, all Modular 3000 Series models fully integrate with overlay/face frame, inset and European/frameless cabinet styles and install seamlessly into standard 24” cabinet bases. A zero clearance, flush installation is easily achieved with a concealed hinge, front ventilation system, fully adjustable toe-kick, and doors and rear leveling system that is accessible from the front of the unit.

All Modular 3000 Series models are available in stainless steel or overlay options. The stainless models are equipped with a commercial stainless steel handle that is interchangeable with a professional handle option. The overlay option provides the simplest method of adding custom panels or frames for a truly integrated installation.

“We’re thrilled that not one but three products from the U-Line Modular 3000 Series are being honored with ADEX Awards,” said Jennifer Uihlein, president. “Our industrial designers and engineers are constantly pushing the envelope in premium, built-in undercounter appliance design to bring new technologies and aesthetic elegance to the marketplace. We’re pleased that they are being recognized for their work.”

All of the entries in each of the ADEX categories have potential for three award levels of platinum, gold or silver. Judges awarded points based on form, function, value and fitness for particular purpose. All Platinum, Gold and Silver level products will be published in the 2012 ADEX Winners Issue of Design Journal.
